1. Is cosmetic teeth whitening safe?
Teeth whitening products containing hydrogen peroxide can cause temporary tooth sensitivity and irritation to the gums. Suitability varies between individuals, which is why understanding your dental health before whitening is important.
At Hello White, we prioritise client comfort, product quality and responsible treatment practices. We recommend consulting your dentist before whitening, particularly if you have existing dental concerns.
2. How does the teeth whitening process work?
Professional cosmetic teeth whitening uses hydrogen peroxide to help break down the coloured compounds responsible for tooth discolouration.
The whitening gel is applied to the tooth surfaces, where the active ingredient works to lighten stains and improve the overall appearance of your smile.
Our in-chair experience uses a Philips Zoom 6% hydrogen peroxide whitening system alongside LED technology.
3. What ingredients are in the Advanced Home Teeth Whitening Kit?
The ingredient list supplied for our Advanced Home Teeth Whitening Kit includes:
Propylene Glycol, Glycerol, Deionised Water, Hydrogen Peroxide (6%), Carbomer, Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium, Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Menthol and Sodium Hydroxide.
Please refer to the product packaging for the current ingredient declaration and directions for use.
4. What is the difference between the in-chair treatment and the Advanced Home Whitening Kit?
At Hello White, we offer two different whitening options to suit different preferences and lifestyles.
The Hello White In-Chair Experience
Our professional in-chair experience is designed to deliver noticeable results in approximately one hour. The treatment consists of three 20-minute whitening intervals, using Philips Zoom 6% hydrogen peroxide gel.
Results vary depending on your natural tooth shade, existing discolouration and individual response.
The Advanced Home Teeth Whitening Kit
Our home kit offers a convenient way to whiten your smile at home, using a smartphone-connected LED mouthpiece.
The treatment is completed over multiple sessions, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Both options offer a convenient approach to achieving a brighter-looking smile.
5. How many shades whiter will my teeth become?
Every smile is different! Your results will depend on your natural tooth shade, the type and extent of discolouration and how your teeth respond to whitening.
Our in-chair clients can experience significant shade improvements, with results of up to 14 shades reported in some cases. However, individual results cannot be guaranteed.
Our goal is to help you achieve a brighter smile that you absolutely love.
6. How long will my teeth whitening results last?
Teeth whitening isn’t permanent. Results can vary considerably depending on your lifestyle, diet, oral hygiene and natural tooth characteristics.
Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking can contribute to staining over time.
With good oral hygiene and sensible aftercare, you can help maintain your brighter smile for longer.
We recommend discussing a suitable maintenance schedule based on your individual results and lifestyle.
7. Is teeth whitening suitable for everyone?
Teeth whitening isn’t suitable for everyone.
It is generally not recommended for:
- Children under 16.
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People with active gum disease or untreated dental decay.
- Anyone experiencing unexplained dental pain or other unresolved oral health concerns.
If you have existing dental work or concerns about your oral health, we recommend speaking with your dentist before proceeding.
8. Will teeth whitening cause sensitivity?
Some people experience temporary tooth sensitivity during or after whitening, while others experience very little or none.
Sensitivity can vary depending on the individual, their dental health and the whitening treatment used.
If you experience significant or persistent discomfort, discontinue whitening and seek advice from your dentist.
At Hello White, client comfort is an important part of the experience.
9. Can I whiten my teeth if I have veneers, crowns or fillings?
Whitening products work on natural tooth structure and will not change the colour of porcelain veneers, crowns or composite fillings.
If you have visible dental restorations, it’s important to understand that your natural teeth may lighten while your existing dental work remains the same shade.
We recommend discussing your desired result with your dentist before whitening.
10. How long does an in-chair appointment take?
Our standard Hello White in-chair experience takes approximately one hour and includes three 20-minute whitening intervals.
We also offer an extended Hello White Ultra experience for clients wanting a longer whitening session.
11. What should I avoid after my teeth whitening appointment?
After whitening, we recommend being mindful of foods and drinks that can stain your teeth.
Coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces and strongly pigmented foods can contribute to staining.
Follow the specific aftercare instructions provided for your treatment and maintain your regular oral hygiene routine.
12. Do you offer mobile teeth whitening across Melbourne?
Absolutely! Hello White is a mobile cosmetic teeth whitening service travelling across Melbourne.
We bring the whitening experience directly to your home, making it easy to enjoy a brighter smile without travelling to a traditional salon.

13. Do you offer couples and group bookings?
Absolutely! We love a group booking.
Whether you’re planning a girls’ night in, getting ready for a special occasion or organising a bridal party, we can accommodate group bookings of up to four clients in one appointment.
It’s the perfect excuse to gather your favourite people and enjoy a little smile transformation together.
14. Do you offer wedding and bridal teeth whitening?
Yes! Wedding season is one of our favourite times of the year.
We offer individual and group whitening appointments for brides-to-be, bridal parties and anyone wanting a brighter smile before their special day.
